Goodbye 2019December 29, 2019
It’s the end of the year (and decade), and we think a lot of people would agree that this year has been wild, and often not in a good way. We know this time of year is tough for many people for a variety of reasons too, so instead of “happy holidays” we want to share solidarity, and say well done for surviving another year. The world is a complete mess and sometimes it’s hard not to feel overwhelmed or hopeless. But there is a lot of good too, and there is value in focusing on that when we need it most, when we need hope and encouragement.
We want to thank everyone who has supported us in any way over the past year. Whether you just listen to the podcast, or have shared episodes with others, given us a review online, written emails or messages with feedback or questions or episode ideas, or supported us financially through Patreon or PayPal, thank you so much. We really appreciate it all.
When we started this podcast we weren’t sure if anyone would listen, if we’d sound ridiculous and just get hate or if we’d even get past the first couple of episodes. But we have managed to release 18 episodes so far and we have grown and learned so much in the process, through planning for the episodes and through our interactions with all of you. We have come into contact with some great people, amazing activists and people whose thinking and wisdom we truly admire. We have also encountered some criticism and hate and that has helped us to grow, too.
We are not really big on New Years resolutions or “new year, new you”, but we do believe it’s important to reflect and grow and learn as often as possible, right now and always. We hope you all keep fighting against all forms of oppression, calling out the shit, challenging others to think critically and challenging yourself to do the same, not backing down when things are tough or when it feels like the scum are winning. We hope to keep putting out episodes each month which challenge ourselves and anyone who listens. And we hope you’ll all keep us company as we do.
Remember to look after yourselves and each other. We are stronger together (except the fascists, they can fuck off).
Love and Liberation,
T and Pete.
